THE GROUNDSWELL SOCIETY SURFING CONFERENCE

The Groundswell Society presents its 5th Annual Surfing Conference

Arts - Science - Issues

Saturday, February 18, 2006
University Conference Center, Corwin Pavilion
University of California, Santa Barbara

Every surfer has their own version of surfing and what it means to be stoked – a beginner getting their first ride can be just as genuinely elated as a world champ winning the title.  Or as Steve Pezman, the publisher of Surfers Journal, once said, “Everything a surfer feels about riding waves is psychosomatic.”  So, since there’s no way to define any one path as being THE “surfer’s way”, we present SASIC 5, a day of information and exchange about a variety of arts, sciences and issues that can contribute to a rewarding life as a surfer.

The first fifty attendees will receive an event T-shirt, and all attendees will receive a copy of the proceedings.
