1st ANNUAL NEW YORK SURF FILM FESTIVAL LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

4 February, 2008 : - - New York, NY - The New York Surf Film Festival is stoked to announce the launch of their new website which includes details on the submission process, screening panel, media partners and how get involved with this premiere festival.
The festival will be held in September 2008 and will consist of three days of screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established surf filmmakers. “We are excited about having the site up and running so that filmmakers, surfers and visitors can stay connected with current news, photos and how to get their local surf community involved,” said festival co-founder Morgan Berk.
The submission period will be open from January 1 - August 1, 2008 and includes but is not limited to categories in Documentary, Animation, Biography, Geographical Location, Humor, Travel Log, Creative, Experimental for both feature and short film formats. The site also includes information on the 2008 screening panel, which includes influential members from the surf, art, and film industries from across the globe.

The New York Surf Film Festival is a Don't Drop In Production, founded by Adam Cannizzaro, Tyler Breuer, Michael Machemer, and Morgan Berk in 2008.

Festival Overview
The New York Surf Film Festival is an event consisting of three days of screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established surf filmmakers. In between screenings, we will be hosting a surf history lecture series, Q&A Sessions with filmmakers and notable surfers, Panel Discussions, and Meet & Greets. We will also be curating a Surf Art Gallery to be open to the public for the duration of the weekend. Please contact us if you are interested in showcasing your work.

1ST ANNUAL NEW YORK SURF FILM FESTIVAL COMING TO NY SEPTEMBER 2008

New York, NY – The inaugural year of the New York Surf Film Festival will be held in September 2008.   The New York Surf Film Festival is an event consisting of three days of screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established surf filmmakers. 
The official Website of the New York Surf Film Festival, NYSurfFilm.com will bring the festival experience to the surf community through the streaming of short films, current news, photos and box office information.
The New York Surf Film Competition is open to independently produced feature-length and short films in the surf genre. In order to be considered for the Festival’s Film Competition for U.S and International films, submitted films must have been completed after January 1, 2003.  The running time for features must be greater than 30 minutes. Short films under 30 minutes in length are eligible for participation in the Shorts Program.
