1. The first half of this year has been a pretty good start for you. How do you look back on it?
I'm pretty happy with the way it went overall. To do good in the contests in Australia was definitely the best feeling so far, they are some of the hardest contests of the year so it gave me confidence. I worked hard on everything since last october so to do well in the first few months is great.

2. During the break after the O'Neill Highland Open, what's been going on for you?
I stayed at home for a while, training with my coach and getting boards ready. Then i went to bali for 2 weeks for my sponsor reef and we had a really really good time, I feel ready for the Maldives contest!

3. We are getting closer to the biggest leg in the world. How do you look at it?
I can't wait, I'm going to be ready for that leg even more than I was at the beginning of the year so i'm looking forward to it. It's the most important part of the year so i need to get there fresh and motivated and feeling good about my surfing. Everything between now and then is only preparation.

4. You've been in super form, won the Reef vendée Pro 4 Star WQS. What about it?
I was stoked, Reef is my main sponsor, they've been really good to me so I'm happy I had the opportunity to win that contest, and I guess everyone was happy about it which is a bonus. I love to do good in France because it's home as well.

5. How does it feel to remain in the top 15 of the WQS, and be one of the favourites?
No pressure at all. I've made some big mistakes this year as well! I'm learning from that and trying to work on it for the rest of the year. I don't worry at all about results or opinions, etc...

6. What about the european crew. Lots of good surfers, lots of events this year... More challenging?
It's different because of the number of events, but at the end of the day it's just the same...You just have to get through one heat at a time and do your best. About the rest of the boys, I hope it stays that way. There is going to be at least 2 or 3 europeans in the WCT next year so the more the better off course!

7. What will be your favourite locations this summer in Europe for the WQS?
Hossegor and Ericeira for sure!! I love both places and i'm really, really, looking forward to theses contests. The crowds are great and the waves are usually good...Let's see what happens!
